- To demonstrate the effectiveness of multimedia in child education which shall eventually expand, given the recent government and political leadership initiatives to increase and greatly enhance accessibility to computers by lower-income families and students.
- To safeguard the Arab national and cultural identity by promoting the use of an original cultural environment for kids, that would indirectly breed cultural comfort and satisfaction.
- To promote IT literacy for Arab kids and introduce them to new technologies in their everyday life, by taking the first steps in the way of strengthening the nexus between children and the latest technology from their early childhood; and aligning them with the rapid proliferation and fast-paced change within the technology arena.
- To emphasize Egypt's leadership in the Arab world, by producing an e-learning solution for Arab children to increase their knowledge of the Egyptian culture and media heritage.
GOAL:
To make VITI4kids the default homepage and an everyday habit for all Arab kids.
- How does ICT contribute to the organisational objectives
- Nowadays Information Technology plays a major role in the process of modern education. As software industry prospers, children’s use of this technology becomes more sophisticated. Unfortunately, computers, so far, are being utilized in a developmentally inappropriate manner. Educators are not yet inclined towards embodying Internet as a convenient educational assistant media. And the available material lack cultural emphasis and misses the richness of the Egyptian and Arabic culture and heritage. One of the advantages of VITI4Kids website is teaching kids computer basics using ICT technologies in delivering the lessons using the internet. ICT is the way to reach our customers with high speed connection.
- Transferability
Any organization dealing with children can replicate VITI4kids, such as Schools, public libraries, IT clubs, children software companies, satellite TV channels...etc. . It can also be done by small private groups without the need to a government department or something in between.
- Project summary
- VITI4kids is a website that aims at building-up computer skills of Arab kids in the age group 4 to 9 years by fulfilling the modern “edutainment” concept that mixes education and entertainment. The advantage of VITI4kids lies in being a multimedia application website that equivalently encourages boys and girls of the Arab culture to learn about computers in the easiest to grasp, most entertaining, and funniest way.
