Bhojpuria.com

  • Brief description
  • Bhojpuria.com is the World's first Portal for Bhojpuri Speaking people. The site attempts successfully to provide a holistic and a global platform for more than 34 Crore Bhojpuri speaking people across the Globe. One can find News, Bhojpuri Songs, Bhojpuria Dukan, Free E-mail, Bhojpuri E-greetings, ecards, Bhojpuria culture, Festivals etc through the online platform. The site is a value addition in itself with continuous information and coverage on latest and vital perspectives of life of Bhojpuri community. The site is a great wholesome service provider and entertainer with resourceful information on vital aspects of the community like matrimony, books, events and so on.
  • Vision, Objectives and Goals
  • The aim of this project is to connect the young generation from the 34 crore strong Bhojpuria community worldwide through its language, Bhojpuri. Bhojpuria.com is not just a website; it’s a way of life. We want to take Bhojpuri to the last person in this world.

    Achivements, so far:

    1. Last year, we won the Manthan Award for best eCulture website in India.

    2. We had helped hundreds of old people of 60+ age group, to connect themselve to Internet.

    3. Bhojpuria.com was the Official Media Parner for Bhojpuri Film Awards 2005, Bhojpuri Hungama, World Bhojpuri Summit and several other Bhojpuri related functions.

    4. There have been 2 songs released on Bhojpuria.com so far, by the noted singers in the industry, while one of them is in the Music Album of Manoj Tiwari, the most famous singer/actor of Bhojpuri Film Industry.

    5. Apart from the presitigious Manthan Awards, Bhojpuria.com have revieved several other awards from various Bhojpuri societies in India and abroad. Andhra Pradesh Govt (a State Government in India) enlisted Bhojpuria.com as the only cultural portal working on grass-root level.

    6. Bhojpuria.com have been praised and appreciated by almost all the big names in Indian Media.

    Goals:

The basic aim of Bhojpuria.com is, there should be only 2 type of people in this world, the first one would say "I Love Bhojpuri" where as the other one would say "I Hate Bhojpuri", there should be no one, who could ask "What is Bhojpuri?” We want to take Bhojpuri to the last person in this world.

  • How does ICT contribute to the organisational objectives
  • We found that our people are a bit TOO CIVILISED (read “Shy”) to speak Bhojpuri. Bhojpuria.com offers free E-Greetings in Bhojpuri to show how Bhojpuri can beautify emotions.

Similarly, we are showcasing our rich culture on a Global platform. A Language and Culture, which has a huge impact in India, Mauritius, Guyana, Fiji, Trinidad & Tobago, Singapore and several other parts of the world. So, ICT was the only way to stablish a bridge among them.

  • Transferability
  • The Project can be replicated by any small group, who have a vision for their culture. So far, we have been running without any Govt. support, and anyone with a clear vision may try to replicate our success story.
  • Project summary
  • An online communication and networking platform is a great value addition for any group or community. Bhojpuria.com provides such a platform to the worldwide Bhojpuria population providing news and views from Bhojpuria region, and Bhojpuri Film industry. We are trying to provide a global platform to Bhojpuri speaking people, and to be honest, we are fairly successful so far. By using ICT, we had emerged as an international gateway for our community, which has its footmarks in all six continents. This have been perhaps the first serious attempt to re-unite a civilization, which was scattered some 150 years ago.
